Is there anything you can give a cat for pain relief?

I think she just pulled a muscle. She likes to wrestle with the dog and she is an older lady cat. I know you can’t give aspirin to cats. Just curious. If it continues we’ll go see the vet. I just wondered about the pain relief possibilities.
Thanks for imput thus far. I put out the heating pad and will not give her anything till she sees the vet. She instigates the wrestling with the dog (who is not mean but rambunctious nonthe less). We are keeping her as quiet as possible.

I wouldn’t recommend giving ANYTHING to a cat. If the cat will sit still, try a hot compress, or heating pad. But, make sure you still see the vet. Better safe than sorry!

Best to ask your vet about this. Many of the pain relief options that work well for humans and for dogs can be toxic to cats, so please do not give your cat any OTC human medication unless you have been instructed to do so by a qualified veterinarian, who must also give you clear instructions for the dosage.

She needs to be kept in a quiet place, in a little bed with a blanket. aspirin and paracetamol are toxic to cats, so don’t give her any. There is stuff your vet may give her, that will help her.

well make sure your cat does not wrestle for a while or does anything dangerous because it might cause a big problem and your cat my not walk again, so you can make her rest and do not let her next to the dog and keep giving her good treatment and if she does anything bad and doesnt listen to you do not hit her just hold her gently and put her back to her bed or anywhere she likes to sleep and wait until she falls asleep ok and stroke her alot because it will make her muscles relax and go back to how they were ok.
