c r asked:

I am recovering from ankle surgery and was prescribed Oxycodone for pain relief. I am well aware that this is a serious pain medication; however it is not working very well. Is it all right to also take Ibuprofen along with Oxycodone and in what amounts. Thanks for any help.

Yes it is perfectly safe. You can take your percocet as perscribed but you can add up to 800mg of Advil every 6 hours as needed for pain. Just dont exceed 16 200mg pills a day. Only do this if needed. Ibproffen has a side effect of damage to the liver when taken for long periods of time or at excess amounts.

In my experience it is safe to take oxycdone and ibrufen together because they don’t have the same additives. However I’m not away how much is a safe amount. If your pain relief is not adequate you need to see your doctor to discuss it further

You should never mix any kind of medication without consulting your Dr. or the pharmacy that you got the prescription filled with. Just call a 24 hour WalGreens & ask a pharmacist.

First, oxycodone is oxycodone. Percoset is not pure oxycodone. I take an aleve with an oxy pill every so often if my pain is bad, and it is okay.
