How do you tell your pain management clinic that you don’t want to go there anymore?

I’ve been going there for a while now. I’ve had injections that really haven’t worked that good. The people there are nasty and they just don’t help me that much. How do I get out of it?

Your not married to them! Tell them the next time you go that you don’t think what their giving you is working that well, also tell them that you think the staff there is just nasty. Get some balls girl. Maybe they will clean up. There’s no harm in it either. If it was your pain mgmt clinic that was nasty, wouldn’t you want someone to tell you?

Tell them that you can’t afford it anymore.
Or say you found a new doctor that’s closer to you.

You don’t have to explain to them why you aren’t returning, just don’t make another appointment or ring and say you feel that you aren’t receiving any benefit from their treatment and you won’t be returning. they won’t hold it against you personally and if someone is on the waiting list, they will be able to have your place.

I would simply not make another appointment. If asked, say that you were not satisfied with the care you received and you found the staff to be unprofessional and rude. You don’t owe an explanation- afterall you are paying for their services-either out-of-pocket or through your insurance carrier. They work FOR you. You don’t say what sort of pain you are experiencing, but if you have back pain, try actipatch. It works great.

You just need to tell them that they are not meeting your pain management needs and you are going to be transferring to a new clinic. Your new clinic will need your records from the current pain management doctor so just request a records transfer and make an appointment with another PM doctor in your area. When you see the new doctor, let them know what was tried in the past and what did and did not work. They should be willing to help make a new plan with you if you have diagnostic imaging and tests that clearly show what the problem is and what you have been diagnosed with. There is no reason to continue seeing a doctor that is not helpful to you and is not willing to adjust treatment when the current plan is not working. But you do need to tell them you are leaving so you can get your records sent to the new doctor.
