Believe it or not, try eating a banana. Also, use a hot water bottle on your abdomen for a few minutes, then place it on your lower back for a few minutes.
Constantly taking something for the pain wont actually help, it can make things worse for you.
Lastly, see your doctor about getting a D & C done. It may help you with the cramping.

You may need to see a doctor. Extreme pain for your period could mean a more serious condition, such as Endometriosis. However, even if it is just normal period pain, they can prescribe you more powerful anti-inflammatories and painkillers which can help manage your pain more effectively, such as naprosyn or vicodin.

vicodin, but it makes me smoke a LOT MORE when im on it, so use it sparingly if ur a smoker

Midol helped me some. It didn’t get rid of all the pain, but it would help to dull it enough to allow me to do what I needed to as far as school and work.
I have found that a lifestyle change helped for me. I cut my caffeine intake down to almost nothing. I don’t eat a lot of salt. I try to drink more water and exercise regularly. These things have helped my stomach and back cramps during PMS and my period.
I wish you luck. It is some of the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. (& I’ve had a kid!)

I actually take the IB profin….it says take four since they are so weak…but I will do that then take 4 more about an hour later. That makes it equal to the 800 miligrams you can get prescribed from the doc. I had them at one time for something else and realized that it worked great for my cramps. I have med problems (girl med problems) and it causes lots of pain.

Try Codeine, or if it’s very severe, you may need an injection of something stronger from your doc.

it is because of spasm, use ibuprofen…that works!
but u can take a warm shower …and then use something warm over ur abdomen and ur back…
if it is not over,u may have an injection…
