Why is it so hard to find a pain management doctor when you are terminally ill?

My own cancer doctor has asked me to find another doctor to manage my pain and anxiety because he does not like prescribing Narcotics and Xanax. I have found that those that dont have anything physically wrong obtain these doctors easily.

Sadly enough it’s because people abuse the system and get drugs from multiple doctors and pharmacies, even though they sign contracts with pain management doctors to only see them for pain, etc. It takes away the service for those who really need it such as cancer patients unfortunately. Good luck finding someone!

This is a damn shame, but I know what you’re going through-I am a legitamite chronic pain patient, and it took me a year or so to find the right doctor that isn’t a quack that just hands out dope to anyone-I am sorry for you,but type in pain management specialists into your computer and then type in your location, and you should have success….
