i’ve seen hypno birthing make it easy and less painful. Girl at the end of the day ur body and baby decide how things are gonna go. Just plan to be strong … i had the epidural it was a G od send.

I used the HypnoBabies home study program during my last pregnancy. With it, I was able to have a completely med-free, all natural birth. It was wonderful, and I recommend it to everyone. Being 20 weeks is the perfect time to start. That way you’ll have plenty of time to practice. While I cannot say that I had a pain-free birthing experience, I can say that it was completely tolerable, and often easy. Not once did I ever consider asking for pain relief of any kind. It was always manageable. And, to let you know…I’m usually a wimp when it comes to pain. I run for the asprin as soon as I get even the smallest hint of a headache!

my babies were born in the water which was extremely relaxing and helped with the pain. I also used hypnobirthing type techniques which helped a lot. Most important is to surrender yourself to the process that your body already knows how to perform. Focus on something outside of your body such as a clock, your breathing, music, etc so that your body can do it’s work.

I took the lamaze classes, but when I was in labor I was very cranky and realized the whole breathing thing was a crock. My husband then tried to massage my back and he gave me kind, loving words of support….I told him to shut the hell up and get me an epidural.

    Haha epidurals are awesome.

    Good luck to you!

Same boat as you I spoke to my mom who gave birth to my sister and I without any pain medication. She said lamazze helped her with breathing techniques. I will be going to birthing classes later on. Hopefully it works

haven’t given birth yet but I am going to do it as naturally as possible. I figure if I spent my whole pregnancy avoiding drugs why would I pump my system (and my babies) with drugs at the end?! I just started studying the Hypnobabies Homestudy course. I love it! I have only used it for a week but already my nervous and anxiety is going away. Read some of the birth stories and watch the videos. The moms usually describe the births as uncomfortable but not painful. The program teaches you how to have complete control over your mind. It is really neat. I was weary of it just because it is hypnosis but already I am loving it!

Didn’t use any of those methods or take any classes and went completely natural. Just go with the flow of the day(s), moan/groan through each contraction, walk when you can and lay down when you need to rest. Your body will let you know what you are capable of and trust yourself that you can do it if you have your mind set on natural - our bodies are designed for childbirth! Each pain has a purpose and brings you closer to seeing your beautiful baby. Good luck!

Good for you for choosing a drug free birth. Make sure you do not induce the birth of your baby. Wait for the body to start labor automatically. All pain drugs cross the placenta and cause problems with the baby’s ability to breath during labor and problems breastfeeding once born.

Drug free birth is more than just breathing. There are more than 30 methods of natural pain relief for labor. Waterbirth is also one of the top methods for pain relief during labor.
